Pine View's monthly recognition program — teachers submit one student per subject they teach for extra effort, character, and kindness.
About Proud Python
Proud Python is a monthly recognition program. Each Pine View teacher submits one student per subject they teach for extra effort or progress in classwork or attitude. Students are recognized for things like excellent work, a positive attitude, effort and creative effort, kindness, being on task, being prepared, work habits, leadership, honesty and integrity, dependability, and more.
Elementary recipients receive a Proud Python button and a personal letter from Dr. Covert, and are invited to meet Dr. Covert and Assistant Principal Roy Sprinkle in the Student Union for a frozen fruit bar or a Proud Python bookmark or ruler. Dr. Covert also draws five names each month for additional $3 gift vouchers to the school store. High school recipients receive an honor roll car magnet.
PVA provides the certificates, the incentives, and the celebrations. A special thank you to Elena Reuter and Jennifer Infanti for chairing Proud Python this year.
